“Stuart’s combination of sensitivity and creativity really sparked the dancers imaginations …
each person has space and time to play and reflect, with full embodiment around the themes of pleasure, powerless and power.”

Lynnette King, Director of 'Spin Off'

The signature workshop to ROCKBOTTOM takes safeguarding and the right to privacy into account, the workshop is developed for all areas of education and community, non-dancers and dancers of all ages and abilities.

This practice has a clear structure of tuning in, conversation, reflection and movement exploration in a inclusive, somatic, personal and profound individual manner that is unintrusive.

The practice was developed between Stuart and Becky Parry (mentor, coach, alternative therapist and NLP practitioner).

With a shared interest in transformation and change, the practice ‘Powerless and Power’ was developed and has been delivered and experienced in a variety of settings such as:

  • Fallen Angels Dance Theatre (recovery through dance theatre)
  • Second year students at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance
  • The Birmingham Dance Network
  • Birmingham International Dance Festival
  • Spin Off – a performance group for adults with additional needs (in collaboration with Ace Anglia, an advocacy organisation for adults with learning disabilities)
  • Ace Anglia
    Promo Film
    Spin Off (Ace Anglia)

Commissioned by Ace Anglia, Stuart produced a dance film that highlighted the organisation’s advocacy work.

“In the workshop sensitive themes were introduced carefully with much opportunity to recognise my own thoughts, feelings and patterns. We delved deep and had time to explore personal emotive journeys through our physical experience. I loved this and the opportunity to move and reflect.”
